The fourth NARBO General Meeting was held on 8 to 12 November 2010 at the Clarion Hotel Makassar.
The event was attended by representatives of NARBO members consisting of 15 countries and also representatives from BBWS / BWS Indonesia.

Dialogue visit from Spain 17-19 Oct 2010
Prof. dr. Joaquin Andreu and prof. dr. Javier Paredes Arquiola from Water & Environmental Engineering Institute, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, visited Indonesia.
The purpose was to exhange information about basin-level IWRM in the two countries, including challenges, modalities and technology, with a view to a continued professional collaboration.
The visit was a sequel to the River Basin Study Visit in Spain in May 2010, organised by ADB, NARBO, Tecniberia, and Ministerio de Economía y Hacienda, Government of Spain.
The 3-days programme comprised
• a half-day seminar at CRBOM, Solo, with participation by leaders and other representatives from Bengawan Solo River Basin Organisation (BBWS-BS); the Secretariat of Bengawan Solo Water Council (TKPSDA); PJT1; Dissemination Unit for Water Resources Management and Technology (DUWRMT, Solo); Experimental Stations for Rivers (Balai Sungai, Solo); Jica; and Center for River Basin Organizations and Management (CRBOM, Solo);
• a visit to the Upper Bengawan Solo Basin (Wonogiri multi-purpose dam and reservoir, the Colo weir, and surrounding irrigated areas;
• a half-day seminar at Experimental Station for Irrigation (Balai Irigasi), Bekasi, with participation by leaders and other representatives from Centre for Water Resources Research and Development, Bandung (including dr. Arie), Balai Irigasi, Experimental Station for Hydrology and Water Management, JWA, and Deltares;
• a meeting in Jakarta with mr Aart Van Nes and team members from the project 'Institutional Strengthening for IWRM in the 6Cis River Basin Territory' (covering six basins around Jakarta) (ADB TA 7189); and
• a mini-seminar at DG Water Resources, Ministry of Public Works, Jakarta, with dr. Amron, Director General of Water Resources, and Chairman of Network of Asian River Basin Organizations (NARBO); and directors and staff from DG Water Resources.
Presentations were made about Spanish and Indonesian experience. Good discussions were held and many documents were shared.
2nd consultation workshop: Investment roadmap for IWRM-based development in the 4-Ps Area
The workshop took place from 12-14 August 2010 at Mondulkiri Hotel, Mondulkiri. It build on proceedings of a
previous workshop, held in January 2010, and aimed to elaborate and consolidate the recommendations
made on institutional framework, basin profile, and investment roadmap.

Central Cebu, 2nd stakeholder consultation workshop
Mananga, Kotkot, and Combado-Lusaran River Basins
This workshop was the second in a series of two, both hosted by Metropolitan Cebu Water District
(MCWD). It had participation by local government units (barangays and cities); province and central
government bodies involved in planning, water supplies, agriculture, irrigation, environment, and public
health; the Water Resources Center of University of San Carlos; and other stakeholders. Also,
representatives from river basins in Indonesia (Bengawan Solo River Basin Organisation, BBWS-BS)
and Viet Nam (Quang Nam Province) attended the workshop.

1st consultation workshop: Investment roadmap for IWRM-based development in the Vu Gia-Thu Bon Basin
The workshop took place from 20-22 September 2010 at Agribank Resort, Hoi An. It was hosted by Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE), Quang Nam Province, in collaboration with Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee (PPC), as an activity under ADB RETA 6470, 'Managing water in Asia's river basins'.
Its purpose was to review and adjust a draft basin profile and a draft development roadmap.

About the Bappenas IWRM training
The session was one element of a comprehensive training programme conducted by Sida (the Swedish International Development Agency) in partnership with Bappenas and Ministry of Public Works (MPW), and with participation by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

Experimental Station for River got a visit from The Director of Research and Development Agency, Ministry of Public Work
The new director of Research and Development Agency Ir. Soemaryanto Widayatin, MSCE has visited the Experimental Station for River on Monday, June 21, 2010.
Together with the Inspector General of the Ministry of Public Works, Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeljono. Msc and the Head of center for water resources research and development, Dr. Ir. Arie Setadi Moerwanto, M. Sc., Mr. Soemaryanto taking time to see the building of DUWRMT (Dissemination Unit for Water Resources Management and Technology), which is still in the process of development.
Later this building will be a training center for capacity building of RBOs (River Basin Organizations) in the field of technology and management for water resources.
