Experimental Station for River got a visit from The Director of Research and Development Agency, Ministry of Public Work
The new director of Research and Development Agency Ir. Soemaryanto Widayatin, MSCE has visited the Experimental Station for River on Monday, June 21, 2010.
Together with the Inspector General of the Ministry of Public Works, Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeljono. Msc and the Head of center for water resources research and development, Dr. Ir. Arie Setadi Moerwanto, M. Sc., Mr. Soemaryanto taking time to see the building of DUWRMT (Dissemination Unit for Water Resources Management and Technology), which is still in the process of development.
Later this building will be a training center for capacity building of RBOs (River Basin Organizations) in the field of technology and management for water resources.
River Basin Study Visit in Spain
A study visit to Spain took place form 24 to 28 May 2010. It was organised by ADB, NARBO, Tecniberia, and Ministerio de Economía y Hacienda, Government of Spain. The delegation had representatives from many Asian countries, as well as ADB and ADB Institute. The Indonesian delegation members were messrs Sugiyanto, Ministry of Public Works; Tjoek Subijanto and Syamsul Bachri, PJT1; and Ir Isnugroho, CRBOM.
The programme included thematic presentations, panel discussions and plenary discussions, smaller meetings, and visits to the Ebro River Basin, Tajo River Basin Comission, and Centre for Hydrographic Studies of CEDEX (Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas).
Discussions were held with Spanish colleagues on improving water security in a World of changing conditions through better integrated water resources management and basin-level water governance.

The Central Cebu pilot area comprises a cluster of 3 small river basins.
The development agenda comprises poverty alleviation and livelihoods;
safe water, sanitation and electricity; land degradation; habitat conservation; storage capacity; roads; and tourism.
